PUBLIPOST: Disposable nitrile gloves

Disposable gloves are essential personal protective equipment (PPE) used in virtually every industry, from the healthcare industry to the automotive industry. They help prevent contamination, the transmission of dangerous pathogens and protect the wearer from contact with potentially harmful materials. Gloves are made from a variety of materials, with nitrile, vinyl and latex being the most common.

Typically, latex gloves were more widely used due to the tactile ability of the hands and cost-effectiveness. However, due to the prevalence of allergic reactions to latex, alternative materials needed to be used. Nitrile gloves had less stretch and were more expensive to create than latex gloves, but advances in manufacturing have raised their performance, making them cheaper in recent years. Nitrile gloves are actually more chemical resistant, puncture resistant and tough than many other materials while being economical.

Nitrile gloves are available in a variety of colors. While black nitrile gloves are typically the most popular shade in many industries today, the color does not change the quality or degree of protection of the glove. The color selected is much more likely to be a business preference or a color code within the workplace.

Options that come with a nitrile glove

Nitrile is a type of synthetic copolymer that is produced when acrylonitrile and butadiene are combined. When nitrile gloves were first created in the 1990s, this blending process made them very expensive when compared to latex. This method has been made more economical through technology, putting nitrile and latex gloves on components when it comes to cost.

Nitrile is a hypoallergenic material, which means that symptoms of allergy to the material are rare. This will make nitrile particularly useful for making medical gloves, as there is less need to look up allergy information in time-sensitive emergency medical settings.

Among the main advantages of nitrile over many other materials is its puncture and chemical resistance. Despite being penetrable, it is stronger than vinyl and latex, making it a perfect material for handling surgical equipment and corrosive chemicals. Nitrile gloves are often used in emergency rooms. However, it is essential to inspect gloves before use to ensure there is no damage.

Types of nitrile gloves

There are two main types of nitrile gloves, and they are designed for use in different environments

Industrial grade nitrile gloves

Industrial grade nitrile gloves are equipped to protect wearers from abrasive chemicals and solvents. These are commonly based in the automotive industry, cleaning jobs, and tattoo shops. Many workers in these positions put on black nitrile gloves because they look attractive and are therefore more stain resistant than other colors.

Medical grade nitrile gloves

In medical environments, nitrile gloves must meet specific standards to ensure the safety of physicians, patients and visitors. Medical grade gloves are controlled by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These gloves are predominantly located in hospitals, dental offices, medical facilities and laboratories.

Nitrile gloves used in some industries have a powder coating on the inside to ensure they are easier to wear and increase grip and feel. These materials are not suitable for medical environments, so these gloves are generally powder-free.

Nitrile glove color value

The selected color of nitrile gloves is basically inferior to non-public or industry preference. However, black gloves are often intentionally selected for important reasons. For example, police force offices tend to wear black nitrile gloves when arriving in emergencies to distinguish themselves from first responders.

Hazardous or suspicious substances may be simpler to put on when putting on black gloves. Mail handlers and postal workers put on black gloves to help them recognize dust and hazardous materials.

Automotive professionals and tattoo artists prefer black nitrile gloves to mask blemishes and maintain an expert appearance in front of clients. Blood, oil, grease and other stains are less apparent on the darker colored glove.

Color coding is a vital PPE management tactic that can help prevent disease transmission, contamination and misuse. In some professional environments, gloves are color-coded for use in specific tasks. This allows workers to use the best equipment for various jobs, reducing the likelihood of causing an accidental safety hazard. For example, black nitrile gloves can be used especially to handle certain types of food inside a factory.

That was it for today's post, I hope you enjoyed it!

Until the next..

Kisses....
